Islamabad: In a significant move to further strengthen the Benazir Income Support Programme's efforts to alleviate poverty and empower marginalized communities, Chairperson BISP Senator Rubina Khalid met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan Senator Ishaq Dar.

The meeting centered on exploring synergies and strategic collaborations to enhance the impact of BISP's initiatives.

During the meeting, Senator Rubina Khalid apprised FM Ishaq Dar of the new banking model introduced by BISP, designed to facilitate easy, dignified, and transparent disbursement of funds to beneficiaries. This innovative approach is expected to significantly improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of BISP's cash transfer programs.

A key highlight of the discussion was the Benazir Hunarmand Programme, BISP's recently launched flagship poverty graduation initiative. This program aims to reduce vulnerability and poverty among women and families in Pakistan through systematic interventions, providing meaningful support through skills training in different sectors and ensuring employability both domestically and globally. FM Ishaq Dar expressed his willingness and support for the implementation of BISP initiatives, acknowledging the critical role the Ministry of Foreign Affairs can play in achieving this goal.
