Chaudhry Sugar Mills case: CM Punjab moves LHC for return of Rs 7 crore guarantee

Lahore: Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz has filed petition in Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking court's orders for returning Rs 7 crore surety bond deposited in connection with the Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) case.

The court has sought reply from NAB.

A 3-member bench of LHC presided over by Chief Justice (CJ) LHC Aalia Neelum while issuing notice to NAB has sought reply.

Counsel for NAB said NAB has quashed the case.

Upon it CJ LHC Aalia Neelum inquired has the case been quashed in the respective trial court too.

The counsel informed the court there is no need of it as per law.

CJ LHC Aalia Neelum said NAB has quashed the case but the respective court has to accord final approval too. NAB should file reply till February 04.

Petitioner Maryam Nawaz took the plea NAB has dismissed Chaudhry Sugar Mills case declaring it baseless. Chaudhry Sugar Mills case stands abolished . A sum of Rs 7 crore which were kept as guarantee be returned.
