Rawalpindi: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), who is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, called on General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Chief of General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the evolving global and regional security environment and explored avenues to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation. The military leadership reaffirmed their resolve to deepen the strong brotherly ties and enduring defence partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

In recognition of his significant contributions toward strengthening Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations, particularly in military-to-military cooperation, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was conferred with the King Abdulaziz Medal of Honour of the Excellent Class.

The Saudi military leadership also lauded the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
