Chilas: A cloudburst in the Chilas Valley triggered severe flash floods that caused widespread destruction, damaging homes, agricultural land and infrastructure across the affected area.

According to local reports, powerful floodwaters swept through several settlements, causing extensive losses to residential properties, cultivated fields and trees.

The flooding also severely impacted road infrastructure, with multiple sections of the main highway in the Gormal area washed away or damaged, forcing authorities to suspend traffic.

The closure of the road has cut off ground access to a large population, leaving residents stranded and creating significant transportation difficulties.

Local residents reported that the disruption of traffic has begun affecting the supply of essential commodities, raising concerns over shortages of food and other daily necessities.
