Peshawar: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has instructed authorities to expedite the distribution of solar systems to eligible households under the Provincial Household Solarization Initiative, ensuring all administrative and procedural requirements are completed without delay.Speaking at a progress review meeting at the Chief Minister's House, CM Afridi said the initiative aims to provide relief to vulnerable households and highlighted that its timely implementation remains a government priority. Under the program, 130,000 deserving households across the province, including merged districts, will benefit: 65,000 units will be provided free of cost, while another 65,000 will be available at half the cost with easy installment arrangements.The Chief Minister stressed that project benefits must reach intended beneficiaries promptly and urged authorities to avoid unnecessary delays in documentation and processing. Progress on a separate solarization initiative for merged districts un der the Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP) was also reviewed, targeting 120,000 households. Priority under the schemes will be given to widows, persons with disabilities, temporarily displaced persons, disaster-affected households, and other vulnerable segments.
