Lahore: On the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the CM Inspection Team continued surprise inspections of public hospitals across the province, taking disciplinary action against hospital management for administrative lapses.

The team conducted unannounced inspections at four hospitals in a single day, including DHQ Hospital Jhelum and THQ hospitals in Sohawa, Gujar Khan, and Kharian. The inspections, led by Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Shoaib Mirza, included late-night visits to assess facilities and patient care.

At DHQ Hospital Jhelum, serious mismanagement was observed: X-ray machines were non-functional, and X-ray films were unavailable, with multiple patient complaints recorded. Following the team's recommendations, the Medical Superintendent (MS) of DHQ Jhelum was removed from his post.

At THQ Hospital Sohawa, the inspection team expressed lack of confidence in the management. The MS and other officials were strictly warned and directed to immediately improve hospital services.

However, the team expressed satisfaction with the administrative arrangements at THQ Hospitals Gujar Khan and Kharian, citing comparatively better facilities and management.

The provincial government reaffirmed that hospital monitoring will continue to ensure accountability, improved healthcare services, and better relief for patients across Punjab.
