CM KP Directs KPPSC to Announce PMS Posts by January 2026

Peshawar: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has directed the Establishment and Administration Department and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) to ensure the announcement of vacant posts of the Provincial Management Service (PMS) by January 2026. He instructed that groundwork for advertising the new posts be initiated immediately.Chairing a meeting on matters related to the KPPSC at the Chief Minister's House Peshawar, the Chief Minister also directed the initiation of digitisation of all processes and examinations conducted by the Commission. He said the provincial government, in line with Imran Khan's vision, is introducing reforms to promote merit, transparency, and digital governance.'The effective use of modern technology and digitisation will ensure both efficiency and transparency, eliminating unnecessary human interference and the culture of favouritism,' the Chief Minister stated. He added that the government will fulfil the requirements of the Public Service Commission on a priority basis for public convenience and enhance investment to further strengthen and expand its capacity.Sohail Afridi also directed that the recruitment process under the Commission be expedited and made entirely merit-based by adopting new policies. He further instructed an increase in the number of daily interviews conducted by the KPPSC.The meeting was briefed that from 2022 to October 2025, the KPPSC issued 25 advertisements for recruitment in various provincial departments, offering 6,917 posts. During this period, 434 ability tests and 17 competitive examinations were conducted, and recommendations were made for the recruitment of 6,286 candidates.Provincial cabinet members Meena Khan Afridi, Aftab Alam, Muzammil Aslam, administrative secretaries of relevant departments, and the Chairman of the Public Service Commission also attended the meeting.
