Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, interacted with participants of the 17th National Workshop Balochistan at the General Headquarters (GHQ) today.During the interaction, the COAS said that Balochistan is the pride of Pakistan, blessed with vibrant, resilient, and patriotic people who are its true strength. He highlighted that both Federal and Provincial Governments are undertaking development initiatives to uplift the socio-economic landscape of Balochistan through a people-centric approach.The Army Chief emphasised the need to realise the immense economic potential of the province for the benefit of its people. He also acknowledged the constructive role of civil society, particularly in engaging and empowering the youth, underscoring their pivotal role in sustainable development while negating vested political agendas for long-term prosperity in Balochistan.The COAS stated that Indian-sponsored proxies, Fitna al Hindustan and Fitna al Khawarij, are propag ating anti-people and anti-development narratives with malicious intent to perpetrate violence. He reaffirmed that all necessary actions are being taken to eliminate terrorism and rid the province of this menace.The COAS reiterated that while Pakistan seeks regional peace and stability, any violation of its territorial integrity, direct or indirect, will be met with a firm and decisive response to safeguard the lives and well-being of its citizens.The workshop concluded with a candid and interactive question-and-answer session.
