Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has constituted a committee for provision of resources in connection with construction of major water reservoirs.
PM Shehbaz Sharif has accorded approval to constitute high level committee for working out recommendations relating to provision of resources for construction of mega water reservoirs.
Notification for constitution of committee has been issued. 20-member committee will be headed by Deputy Prime Minister (DPM).
According to notification federal ministers, advisors, chief ministers and senior officials have been nominated members of this committee.
This committee will give final shape to its recommendations till June 9, 2025 after consultation with all respective provinces and stake holders.
According to notification committee will be authorized to include any suitable person as member to ensure completion of this work.
Cabinet division will provide assistance to this committee at secretariat level.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, minister for planning Ahsan Iqbal , Finance minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Law minister Azam Nazir Tarar and federal minister for economic affairs are included in the committee.
Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz, CM Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti, CM KP Ali Amin Gandapur, CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, PM AJK Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, CM Gilgit-Baltistan and advisor to PM on provincial coordination committee are also included in the committee.
Special advisor to PM Tariq Bajwa, cabinet secretary, Economic affairs division secretary, finance secretary, secretary water resources, secretary planning are also part of committee.
