Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued contempt of court notice to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Narowal for not implementing court's orders related to application of woman in connection with citizenship of Pakistan.
The contempt of court plea against DC Narowal came up for hearing in LHC Tuesday.
Justice Sultan Tanvir Ahmad of LHC heard the contempt of court petition Tuesday.
Justice Tanvir Ahmad heard the petition filed by Zahid Hussain.
The court while issuing notice to DC Tayyab Khan has sought reply.
The petition said Meena Ibrahim, wife of the petitioner is Afghan citizen. She gave birth to four children. His wife applied for Pakistan citizenship.
The petitioner told the court interior ministry sought documents from his wife in this regard. But interior ministry refused to issue clearance certificate to his wife for not holding Pakistani domicile.
The citizen took the plea in the petition that the court sent application of his wife to DC for acquisition of domicile. But court's October 7, 2025 order has not been complied with so far.
The petitioner requested the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the DC Narowal.
