Lahore: Contempt of court case against secretary Judicial Commission (JC) Niaz Muhammad Khan for not writing " His Excellency" (Izzat Maab) with name of chief justice in the notification of appointment of new judges came up for hearing before Justice Farooq Haider of Lahore High Court (LHC).The court while directing Advocate General (AG) Punjab to assist the court ordered assistance be provided to court in the light of decision of superior judiciary.Registrar office while raising objection over the petition said notification was issued correct and the petition is non maintainable.Petitioner Afaq Ahmad said in his arguments His Excellency has not been written with the name of chief justice in the notification related to appointment of new judges. Writing His Excellency before chief justice or judges is legal requirement.The petitioner requested the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against secretary judicial commission for issuing vague notification.
