Contempt of EC case against PTI founder adjourned till Sep 19

Islamabad: Election Commission (EC) has adjourned till September 19 hearing of contempt of EC case against PTI founder Imran Khan.A 4-member bench of EC led by member Sindh Nisar Durrani took up the case for hearing Wednesday.Naeem Haider Panjuta advocate appeared before EC.He said that he is appearing on behalf of PTI founder in EC. Time be given in connection with contempt of EC case against PTI former chairman. Fawad Chaudhry is in another court and he cannot appear.Counsel for PTI founder said we have asked several times in the courts to bring PTI former chairman in courts through video link. Jail superintendent did not agree to bring PTI founder through video link.EC adjourned the hearing of the case till September 19.Naeem Panjutha said Fawad Chaudhry had requested to adjourn the hearing of the case till September 19.Member Sindh said that case is separate case. PTI founder case is separate case.Naeem Panjutha said Shoaib Shaheen could not come being pre-occupied in several cases.Ad vocate General said Fawad Chaudhry should have given application for exemption from attendance.EC authorities said the statements of witnesses against PTI founder were to be recorded today.Advocate general said as per high court order PTI founder can appear through video link.Naeem Panjutha replied we have asked several times in the courts to bring PTI founder through video link. Jail superintendent did not agree to bring him through video link.The EC adjourned the hearing till September 19.
