Court allows one Ayesha who embraced Islam to live life of her free will

Islamabad: Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) has allowed one Ayesha , resident of Lahore , an adult who embraced Islam to live her life as per her free will besides wrapping up the petition filed by her parents in connection with her custody .

A two members bench of court presided over by Justice Aamer Farooq took up the case for hearing.

The court was told during the hearing of the case that it had ordered on previous hearing for medical test of the girl to determine her age.

Additional Advocate General (AAG) Punjab informed the court medical test has been completed.

According to medical report the age of Ayesha ranges between 19 years and 19 years and six months.

Counsel Wasim Mumtaz told the court as there was ambiguity in the claim of the girl and documents regarding age therefore medical test was got conducted.

The court remarked if girl is adult then she has every right to live her life as per her free will.

Justice Aamer Farooq said Ayesha is authorized to make decision as per her free will.

The court further directed if the parents want to meet then their desire be respected.

It is pertinent to mention here the court during the previous hearing had ordered to shift Ayesha to Darul Aman till the decision of the case.

Sonia, resident of Lahore had changed her name as Ayesha after embracing Islam.

During the hearing of the case Ayesha had given statement in the court that her parents pressurize her for reconverting to Christianity .
