Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while initiating contempt of court proceedings against Member Estate CDA Muhammad Zaman Wattoo for not appearing in person despite court's orders has issued notice to him.

The court has sought explanation from Muhammad Zaman Wattoo within 7 days as to why the contempt of court proceeding be not initiated against him.

Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar initiated the contempt of court proceedings against him .

The court appointed deputy district prosecutor Adnan Ali as prosecutor in contempt of court case.

According to court member Estate CDA Muhammad Zaman Wattoo was ordered to appear before it on September 16 in person . However he came with plea for adjournment due to illness instead of appearing in the court on fixed date.

The court was told the counsel for the petitioner presented attested copy of court's order and according to it Muhammad Zaman Wattoo had appeared before another bench on that day.

Counsel for the petitioner presented attendance record of Muhammad Zaman Wattoo in the court of Justice Inam Amin Minhas on the same day.

The court maintained non appearing in the court on September 16 despite court's order prima facie falls in the ambit of contempt of court.

Upon it notice was issued to Muhammad Zaman Wattoo.

IHC directed registrar office to prepare separate file in regard to contempt of court case.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case further.
