Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notice to interior secretary, DG Immigration and director Immigration on the contempt of court plea for not removing name of former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry from ECL besides seeking reply from the respondents.

The court has sought report from interior ministry.

Fawad Chaudhry had filed contempt of court plea as his name was not removed from ECL despite court's orders.

Justice Inam Amin Minhas took up the petition for hearing Thursday.

Faisal Farid Chaudhry advocate appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner.

Faisal Farid Chaudhry advocate took the plea court has already ordered to remove name of Fawad Chaudhry from ECL. But his name is still in ECL which is sheer violation of court's orders.

The counsel for the petitioner requested the court to initiate contempt of court's proceedings against respective authorities for violating court's orders.

The court while seeking reply from the respondents adjourned the hearing of the case.
