Islamabad: District and Sessions Court of Islamabad has rejected all the 8 appeals of private airlines in connection with airplane accident -2010 besides ordering it to pay compensation of Rs 5 billon, 41 crore and 78 thousands.
The court issued written decision on 8 appeal pleas each of private airlines and affectees.
Additional district and sessions judge Dr Rasool Bakhsh issued the written decision.
The court gave decision on civil claim of compensation on the damage caused in plane accident.
The court imposed penalty of Rs one lac per appeal and Rs 80 lac collectively.
According to written decision damage amounting to Rs 143.189 be paid to affectees Sumaira Chaudhry and two others and Rs 630.94 million to affectees Rashid Zulfiqar and 4 others.
, Rs 1101.868 million be paid to Muhammad Ilyas.
The court has ordered to pay compensation of Rs 507.348 million to Gohar Rehman, Rs 996.048 million to Junaid ul Zaman Hamid, Rs 857.025 million to affectee Muhammad Javed Khan, Rs 572.666 million to Salima Rajput and Rs 606 million to Col (Retd) Shamim Akhtar.
The affectees had filed appeal pleas against the decision of civil judge. Civil judge had allowed to pay compensation to the extent of Rs one crore per head partly.
The court imposed penalty on private airlines for filing petitions and wasting time of court.
The appeal pleas of the affectees remained pending hearing in high court too.
Later the high court had returned the appeal pleas from its jurisdiction powers to jurisdiction powers of sessions judges.
