Rawalpindi: The court rejected PTI founder plea regarding stay order against hearing of GHQ attack case.

PTI founder Imran Khan could not get a major relief in Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on his petition against video link trial.

A division bench of LHC Rawalpindi bench comprising Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan and Justice Wahid Khan heard the case Monday.

The court rejected the plea regarding stay order against hearing of GHQ attack case.

The court while admitting the petition for hearing issued notice to chief secretary Punjab.

Counsel Suleman Akram Raja said video link trial was aimed at targeting one person.

The court remarked let the reply come and then we see it.

The court sought reply from chief secretary on October 6.

It is pertinent to mention here notification regarding video link trial of Imran Khan was again challenged on September 24 after court's objections.

The petitioner had taken plea in the petition that constitution of Pakistan gives legal right of fair trial under article 10-A.

It was requested video link trial in GHQ attack case be declared null and void. Order be issued to present Imran Khan from Adiala jail in court. Stay order be issued till the decision of the case.

According to petitioner court is hearing the case on whatsapp call instead of video link. Legal consultation of lawyers with the accused is must during hearing of the case for the sake of fair trial.

It was requested in the petition video trial notification be declared illegal and non -constitutional. Order be issued to implement transparent trial related law under article 10-A of the constitution sternly. All trial of Video link and whatsapp be declared null and void.

The court had dismissed adjournment plea from counsels of Imran Khan in GHQ attack case.
