Islamabad: District and Sessions Courts Islamabad has reserved judgment on the petition seeking registration of FIR in respect of PIMS tragedy.
Sessions Judge Raja Asif took up the petition for hearing.
The petitioner Riaz Hanif Rahi gave arguments.
Police requested the court for rejecting the petition regarding registration of case.
Riaz Hanif advocate argued PIMS incident is before all of the world. Precious lives have been lost. Inquiry committee has been constituted by Prime Minister (PM) under what law. Any inquiry committee enjoys no status without approval of cabinet.
The petitioning lawyer argued diyat of deceased children was Rs 50 lac while nurse was given prize of one crore rupees.
Police is pursuing government policy instead of law.
Judge Raja Asif inquired is any petition like this not pending hearing in any other court.
Riaz Hanif Rahi told the court 5 writ petitions have been filed with reference to proceedings and not in regard to registration of case.
