Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has summoned implementation report on anti smog steps till November 12.
Justice Shahid Karim of LHC while hearing different petitions regarding elimination of smog has summoned detailed implementation report from different departments till November 12.
Lawyers of different departments of government appeared in the court during the hearing of the case.
A member of commission presented report and told the court heavy traffic surges in the city after 11 p,m night and due to it smog situation is deteriorating.
During the hearing of the case DIG Motorway police told the court police provided assistance in first pilot project and today it is too ready to provide every possible assistance.
Justice Shahid Karim declared police cooperation appreciable but pointed out situation will not improve unless effective checking of vehicles is carried out.
The court sought details of restaurants set up in parks and Barby- Q facilities and inquired which and how much land was used in park.
PHA took the plea reply will be given till tomorrow after making inspection of venue.
Justice Shahid Karim warned the policy of cutting trees for making the parks merely source of income is not acceptable. If money has to be earned then cut all the trees of Lahore. This is not right way.
The court summoned the report from cantonment board in respect of tree which was cut in front of bakery.
The court ordered all the departments to present implementation report till November 12.
