Lahore: A court in Lahore is expected to announce sentences for senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders today, Monday, August 11, in connection with the May 9 arson and vandalism cases.
The reserved verdict in the two cases - the Rahat Bakery incident and the Shadman Police Station arson - will be delivered after the court had earlier concluded final arguments.
The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC), presided over by Judge Manzar Ali Gul, conducted the jail trial at Kot Lakhpat Prison, where lawyers completed their closing statements before the verdict was reserved.
Among those accused are senior PTI leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Senator Ejaz Chaudhry, Umar Sarfraz Cheema, and Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed. All were present in the courtroom during the hearing.
