CPNE announces constitution of Rawalpindi/Islamabad Committee for year 2026-27; Shakil Ahmed Turabi appointed Chairman

Karachi: Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) has announced constitution of Rawalpindi/Islamabad Committee for year 2026-27.According to the details, Shakil Ahmed Turabi has been appointed Chairman and Rafey Niazi has been appointed Deputy Chairman of Rawalpindi/Islamabad Committee for year 2026-27. The other members include Tahir Farooq, Yahya Khan Saddozai, Adeel Waraich, Amir Illyas Rana, Khalid Mahmood, Salman Masood, Mian Abrar, Javed Baloch, Abdul Salam Butt, Tazeen Akhtar, Sajjad Abbasi, Mian Fazal Ilahi, Qaswar Jameel, Syed Safeer Hussain Shah and Muhammad Ali Zanjani.The purpose of this committee is to protect the interests of CPNE member newspapers and journals from federal capital, print media activities such as organizing functions, workshops and seminars so that the standards of print media could be further enhanced.For rendering assistance to the Standing Committee for holding meetings and functions of CPNE in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, carryout responsibilities assigned by Secretary Ge neral/Standing Committee and consider the matters related to press and present them to Standing Committee and to organize different programs for highlighting the role and importance of press.
