CPNE announces constitution of the Government Press Relations Committee for the year 2026-27


Karachi: Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) has announced the constitution of the Government Press Relations Committee for the year 2026-27.

According to the details, Aijaz ul Haq (Ex Secretary General) will be the Chairman of the Committee for the year 2026-27, Anwar Sajidi (VP Balochistan) Deputy Chairman and members included Kazim Khan (President), Ghulam Nabi Chandio (Secretary General), Kazi Asad Abid (VP Sindh), Mian Hassan Ahmed (VP Punjab), Shakil Ahmed Turabi (VP Isb/Rwp) and Adnan Zafar (VP KP).

Functions of the committee include maintaining regular liaison between CPNE and government institutions to address issues affecting the newspaper industry. To advocate for media-friendly laws, policies, and regulations that uphold press freedom and sustainability. To engage with government authorities on the fair allocation of advertisements, rates, and timely payment of dues. To coordinate with relevant authorities to resolve press freedom concerns and operational challenges faced by member pub
lications. To submit reports and recommendations to the CPNE Standing Committee on matters relating to government-press relations on quarterly basis.
