Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has said credit to eliminate smuggling goes to army chief.
"oil smuggling has declined. The efforts for controlling smuggling remained result-oriented. The credit for curbing smuggling goes to army chief. Sugar smuggling has plunged to zero level. he said this while talking in federal cabinet meeting here Wednesday.
Common man is bearing evidence of improvement in economy in 9 months.
"Dharnas had undermined national economy. However we have remained successful in achieving our targets to considerable extent. No scandal has surfaced in our government so far, he remarked.
Unluckily we are facing menace of terrorism, he said adding Jawans of Pakistan army are making our future secure by rendering sacrifices of lives in war on terror. We are committed to eliminate this scourge, he added.
He stressed that we will have to jack up our exports too for betterment in economy;
Program like Uraan Pakistan will prove good omen for national economy in new year.
We are committed for stability in national economy at the inception of new year, he added.
We succeeded in achieving our targets in the beginning of December. Tax collection of Rs 72 billion is sign of outstanding performance. We achieved 97 percent target.
Appreciating performance of chairman FBR, PM said Rashid Langrial is working very hard. 79 percent relief has been provided to business community. Remittances have also witnessed rise by 15 percent. If this performance remains, then we will achieve target of 35 billion dollars in remittances in current year.
Work is underway for improvement in E-governance The other ministries should also harmonize them with the norms of modern technology.
