Karachi: The state counsel has presented report in Sindh High Court (SHC) on behalf of Sindh government in the case of death of children due to HIV positive. The petition related to matter of death of children due to HIV positive came up for hearing in constitutional bench of Sindh High Court (SHC) .

The state counsel took the plea necessary steps have been taken and the petition has become in-fructuous. Endowment fund of Rs 2 billion has been allocated. Proceedings has been initiated against 37 responsible officers. Therapy centers have been set up and necessary steps are being taken to stop spread of virus. Therefore, the petition be wrapped up.

Tariq Mansoor advocate , counsel for the petitioner took the plea the presence of virus in more 120 children has been admitted. However IG Sindh report has not been presented in the court so far.

He said we want to get register FIR against Sindh government. Cases against the persons who are responsible for spreading the virus be registered and only government can register these cases.

He said government wants to shelve the matters through departmental proceedings. Record pertaining to 2025 is not being provided and information are there the record is being removed. The court directed IG Sindh to file report till August 11.,

Chief secretary Sindh, Commissioner CC, secretary Labor Sindh, health secretary and Kulsum Bai Valika hospital have been made respondents. According to petitioner about 200 children are affected by AIDS in the province. the main reason behind the spread of this disease in Sindh province is re-use of used injections.

According to Tariq Mansoor advocate 8 children have died due to this disease in Kulsum Bai Valika hospital so far. It has been requested in the petition that steps be taken for stopping re-using of used injections. Inquiry be held for deaths in Kulsum Bai Valika hospital besides registering case against the responsible persons.
