Lahore: Punjab government has decided to upgrade hundreds of high schools to Higher Secondary Schools (HSS) across the province. The boys and girls will be able to continue their education upto FA and FSc after matric in their respective educational institutions due to this decision.

As per media reports, School Education Department has sought data in details from high schools all over Punjab for upgradation process. Inspection of schools will be conducted through third party inspection . The institutions which come upto the standard will be given the status of higher secondary.

According to sources about 6000 high schools are operating in Punjab at present. About 5800 schools have provided the requisite information to education department while 795 schools have shown interest for upgradation on availability of proper place and facilities.
