Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) while adjourning for two weeks the hearing of PTI founder petition against Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif in defamation case has ordered to constitute 3-member bench.
During the hearing of the case Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan remarked what is the position of this case.
The counsel informed the court this case is pending hearing in Lahore High Court (LHC) at present.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks after hearing the stance of the respondents.
This case will be heard again before the bench to be constituted on next hearing.
On the other side the petitions in connection with cancellation of bail of Imran Khan in Al-Qadir Trust case and for cancellation bail of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in Toshakhana case were rejected being in-fructuous.
The SC ordered to constitute 3-member bench on the petitions seeking cancellation of bail of PTI founder in May 9 Lahore incidents.
The court adjourned for two weeks hearing of petitions regarding cancellation of bail in cipher and May 9 incident cases .
Talking to media men Suleman Akram Raja counsel for PTI founder said Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi heard all the cases pertaining to PTI founder. This is clear indication that the worst precedent of judicial system is being set in the country.
He said the government has filed appeals in all the cases wherein relief has been provided to Imran Khan.
He said Cipher case was the costliest trial of Pakistan. Its end is before all of us. All the live cases of PTI founder are pending hearing at present.
Whenever he came to SC, relief was provided to him but despite it the ban is in place on meetings with Imran Khan and cases are not being fixed.
Counsel Sulaman Safdar said meetings of PTI founder and Bushra Bibi be arranged and their bail cases be fixed for hearing before holy month of Ramadan.
