Lahore: Court has summoned speaker Punjab Assembly (PA) Malik Ahmad Khan in defamation suit filed by Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif against PTI founder Imran Khan.

The case came up for hearing in sessions court Lahore Saturday. Additional sessions judge Yalmaz Ghanni heard the case.

At the inception of hearing of the case counsel for PTI founder took the plea his counsel Muhammad Hussain will reach after some time. Therefore time be given for cross questioning. The court accepted the plea.

On resumption of hearing, Muhammad Hussain counsel for the PTI founder started cross questioning on statement of information minister Atta Ullah Tarar.

Counsel for PTI founder took the plea the record which has been presented is neither against nor in favor of him. It is not signed as well.

Atta Ullah Tarar told the court these are attested documents of public nature which prove defamation claim.

Raising objections over news papers clips and other record, Counsel for PTI founder said neither they have been issued by them nor have they been written against them. Tarar reiterated the stance these all documents are part of public record.

To a question about USB, he said he himself had purchased and brought it from Hafeez Centre. The material therein has been obtained from media.

The counsel for PTI founder made questions about his political affiliation and veracity of statement .

Atta Ullah Tarar said his statement is not due to his political affiliation but it is based on facts.

The court got the respective documents signed from Atta Ullah Tarar on completion of cross examination.

The court while summoning speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmad Khan adjourned the hearing of the case till November 29.
