Mirpurkhas:A dentist, identified as Dr Jitendra Kumar Malhi, was found dead with a noose around his neck at his residence in Jumnadas Colony, Mirpurkhas, prompting a confrontation between his relatives and doctors at the local Civil Hospital.
According to reports, the family brought Dr Malhi to the hospital, where doctors examined him and declared him dead. His relatives reportedly insisted that cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and electric shocks be administered in an attempt to revive him.
The situation escalated into a heated argument and a physical altercation after the doctors declined to perform the requested procedures, saying the patient had already been pronounced dead.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Mehran Police Station.
According to the deceased's relatives, Dr Malhi had married two years ago, but his wife subsequently went to live with her relatives. They claimed that he had repeatedly requested his in-laws to send her back and had become distressed over the situation.
The family alleged that his emotional distress may have contributed to the suspected suicide. However, the circumstances surrounding his death have not been independently established.
Further details are awaited from the police investigation.
