Islamabad: A series of important delegations, including Senators, university vice chancellors, PIMS executives and board members, senior parliamentarians, former senators, tribal elders, students, lawyers, and civil society representatives, called on Deputy Chairman Senate Syedal Khan at the Parliament House to discuss Pakistan’s political, social, and economic landscape, the role of Parliament, and national development objectives.
Speaking on the occasion, Syedal Khan said Parliament is actively pursuing effective and comprehensive legislation to address the nation’s challenges. He emphasized the collective efforts of relevant institutions to ensure public welfare, institutional reforms, transparent utilization of national resources, and strengthening Pakistan’s global standing.
The Deputy Chairman paid tribute to Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for his administrative acumen, noting that under his leadership, economic indicators are improving, development projects are progressing, and investor confidence-both domestic and foreign-is rising. He highlighted ongoing reforms in energy, governance, and austerity, which are delivering tangible relief to the public.
Syedal Khan described the approval of the 27th Constitutional Amendment as a milestone for political stability and parliamentary supremacy, strengthening democratic institutions and enhancing transparency within the state structure.
Highlighting Pakistan’s abundant natural resources, agricultural potential, diverse climate, and vibrant youth population, he called on all segments of society to work together for national progress and prosperity.
On Balochistan, he said the federal government prioritizes the province’s development, citing improvements in infrastructure, health and education sectors, and creation of new employment opportunities in Gwadar, Quetta, Turbat, Khuzdar, and other areas. He described the people of Balochistan as patriotic citizens and a vital pillar of national unity.
Participants described Syedal Khan’s remarks as insightful and constructive, reaffirming their commitment to joint efforts for national progress and public service.
