Lahore: DIG Operations Muhammad Faisal Kamran has stated that Lahore Police are fully prepared to maintain law and order during the ongoing cricket series, other events, and overall security in the city. Compared to the previous match, security has been further enhanced for on Monday's game between South Africa and New Zealand. More than 5,500 officers and personnel are performing security duties at Gaddafi Stadium, the teams' residences, and along their travel routes. He also assured that the best security measures will be in place for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
He expressed these views during an informal conversation with media representatives at Liberty Roundabout. Faisal Kamran explained that, according to the security plan, cricket spectators are being provided with a four-layered security system. Additionally, 229 female police officers are deployed for the checking of female attendees. No vehicle is being allowed to park in the designated parking area without thorough inspection. He further stated that, similar to the previous match, a meeting with the ICC security team has been scheduled after on Monday's game.
The meeting will discuss security arrangements for the Champions Trophy. The ICC security team is satisfied with the measures taken for the Trilateral Cricket Series, and the final security plan for the Champions Trophy is currently being finalized. Furthermore, DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, along with SSP Operations TasawwurIqbal and other officers, remained in the field. Faisal Kamran personally inspected the security arrangements around Gaddafi Stadium, reviewed the security measures along the teams' movement routes, and instructed the deployed personnel to stay on high alert.
