Doing trade is not government business: FM

Karachi: Finance Minister (FM) Muhammad Aurangzeb has said doing trade is not job of the government.

"Carrying out trade is not domain of the government. Government is all set to extend full cooperation to the private sector, he said while addressing a conference organized by Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan in Karachi Wednesday.

Successful meeting has taken place with IMF head, he indicated.

We have acquired macroeconomic stability in last 12 months. IMF head has appreciated structural reforms with open heart. All know about the details of stability of economy. If we have to go towards insured Pakistan then fast track and inexpensive insurance will be important.

He held government is working on reforms after making headway towards economic stability. However doing business is not job of government. Government has capability about it.

Government mandate is providing facilities and better policy framework.

He went on to say the idea of insured Pakistan is the best idea. Debate has taken place on we are standing where. We should talk on where we should be.

He underlined debate on climate change in Insured impact conference is good step because it is very important.

He underscored that government , cabinet and finance ministry are all set to provide every possible assistance to private sector.

If public sector insurance companies are in loss then these be privatized and given to private sector, he stressed.
