Islamabad: A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Privatization was held in Islamabad Tuesday with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in the chair.

The committee reviewed the privatization process of various state-owned entities.

It endorsed the decision of the Privatization Commission to go for a second cycle of Privatization for HBFC. It also recommended the inclusion of outsourcing of Islamabad Airport through the Privatization Commission.

Speaking on the occasion, Ishaq Dar further emphasized that sponsoring ministries and the Privatization Commission must ensure fair market valuation, reflecting both assets and future business prospects. He reiterated that privatization would encourage private-sector investment and enable entities to adapt more swiftly to market dynamics.
