Karachi: Aafia Movement leader and noted neurophysician of the country Dr. Aafia Siddiqui has condoled the demise of Pope Francis.

In a statement she said: "On behalf of the Aafia Movement, we extend our deepest condolences to the Christian community worldwide on the passing of Pope Francis. We honor his legacy of compassion, mercy, and advocacy for peace and justice.

"We pray that his final words, calling for an end to conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine, and his wishes for peace, mercy, and support for the destitute and prisoners continue to inspire us all. May his legacy guide us towards a more just and compassionate world.

"May Pope Francis's soul rest in peace, and may his teachings continue to illuminate the path towards peace, justice, and humanity."

She hoped that the new Pope would continue the legacy of Pope Francis and believers of different religions and faiths would join hands to strive for getting ended wars, conflicts, genocides, exploitation and injustice from the world.
