Islamabad: Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar has said Election Commission (EC) has no powers to disqualify any senator without the reference of chairman Senate.

Talking to media men outside Supreme Court (SC) Barrister Gohar said there was hearing of Shibli Faraz petition in Supreme Court (SC) constitutional bench.

We had challenged disqualification notice from EC.

Hearing was adjourned in Peshawar High Court (PHC) which was nullified by SC Wednesday. High court has been issued direction to decide after hearing both the respondents.

Chairman PTI said he regretted that Senate election is going to be held tomorrow. We had filed petition for not holding Senate election. The court said we don't want to go into further complications.

Barrister Gohar said the court said matters of disqualification of several people are linked to it. It is hoped relief will be provided to us when case runs in high court. EC has no powers to disqualify any senator without the reference from Chairman Senate.
