Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) while issuing notice to Election Commission (EC) on election petition in respect of Balochistan Assembly (BA) constituency 21 has sought reply.

This reply has been sought on Saleh Bhootani petition.

Justice Shahid Wahid remarked that is a separate matter. Here the matter is related direct to EC. First EC should file reply and then we will see it.

The petition filed by Saleh Bhootani challenging success of Ali Hassan Zehri from BA constituency 21 came up for hearing before a 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Shahid Wahid Friday.

Counsel for EC told the court case related to BA constituency 21 is pending hearing in Election Tribunal (ET).

Justice Shahid Wahid said that is a separate matter and here the matter relates directly to EC.

He remarked EC should file reply first then we will see it.

Counsel Khawaja Haris took the plea your bench had ordered EC to give decision as per law and constitution.

Counsel for Saleh Bhootani said EC gave decision against the court's order.

Justice Shahid Wahid said let the reply come. EC should give its stance and then we will see.

The SC adjourned the hearing of case for indefinite period.
