Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan has filed miscellaneous petition in Supreme Court (SC) on the matter of implementation of order regarding reserved seats.ECP has sought guidance from SC the election amendment be given preference or court's decision.The EC has taken plea speaker National Assembly wrote letter that amendment in election act was made after court's decision. The members who were de-notified by EC also approached for implementation of amendment in election act. EC has implemented to the extent of 39 members. After making amendment in amendment act with reference to reserved seats , it has been implemented with retrospective effect. The court's decisions are clear that the wisdom of parliament cannot be reviewed.It will be a big question mark if amendment act is not implemented keeping in view court's decisions.Sources said decision was taken to resort to SC during a final meeting held under Chief Election Commissioner.Two members of EC had proposed to implement SC deci sion.On the proposal of legal team of EC, decision was taken to file miscellaneous petition in SC.
