Dhaka: Ameer Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has alleged widespread irregularities and stated that they want timely redress of these issues; otherwise, the Election Commission will be held responsible. On this occasion, he presented instances of legal violations before journalists, including those related to the constituencies of Nasir Uddin Patwari and Allama Mamunul Haque, among other locations.

On Friday, after a meeting of the party's executive committee, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami addressed the media on behalf of the 11-party alliance. Present at the occasion were Nahid Islam, Convener of the National Citizen Party (NCP), and Maulana Mamunul Haque, Ameer of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, along with senior leaders of the 11 allied parties.

The national leaders present at the meeting held detailed discussions on the results of the 13th National Parliamentary Elections held on 12 February, the post-election situation, and the future course of action.

Additionally, objections regarding the elections were discussed, including allegations of vote rigging, preventing polling agents from entering polling stations and expelling them, and other irregularities. The meeting strongly condemned attacks on workers and voters of the 11-party alliance across the country, as well as fascist activities such as setting homes on fire, and demanded that such acts be stopped immediately. The leaders agreed that if this situation does not end, strict decisions will be taken.

It was decided in the meeting that in places where result sheets were tampered with, opposition candidates were declared winners through rigging, a double policy was adopted in certain constituencies, and polling stations were unlawfully occupied- including in Dhaka-13 and Khulna-5 - corrective measures would be demanded. If justice is not provided within the stipulated time, a new course of action will be adopted. The 11-party alliance reaffirmed its commitment to law and order and to a united Bangladesh, stating that there will be no compromise on the issue of fascism.

The meeting also resolved that old-style dark politics will no longer be accepted in the country; instead, the 11-party alliance will stand for a new and healthy political culture.
