Rawalpindi: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that eleven militants belonging to the Indian proxy group Fitna Al Khwarij were killed in two separate counter-terrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province on January 8, 2026.

In North Waziristan, intelligence-based operations by the Security Forces targeted a reported militant hideout. After a fierce exchange of fire, six militants were neutralized, and weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site.

A separate joint operation by Police and Security Forces in Kurram District resulted in the elimination of five additional militants, also affiliated with the Indian-sponsored network. The slain militants had been involved in multiple terrorist activities against security forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians.

The ISPR confirmed that sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining militants in the area. These actions form part of Pakistan's relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision 'Azm-e-Istehkam', approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. Security Forces and law enforcement agencies reaffirmed their commitment to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
