Islamabad: Eman Mazari advocate has resigned from enforced disappearance committee of Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA).
As per report she has sent her resignation to the president and secretary of IHCBA.
Eman Mazari has said IHCBA withdrew its petition related to 26th constitutional amendment and judges seniority from Supreme Court (SC). Backtracking from its principled stance by IHCBA has surprised and disappointed me.
Eman Mazari advocate said IHCBA had appointed me as chairperson of committee related to enforced disappearances. Committee has declined to issue letter pad to me so far to issue statement.
Eman Mazari advocate said withdrawing by IHCBA from its principled stance is condemnable, cowardice and bad luck.
The objective behind taking this post was to plead for rule of law and release of missing persons.
She said it is very clear that IHCBA has no courage to stand by this matter. I resign from my office. I cannot allow the sitting cabinet of bar to spoil my name and repute. Resignation be accepted.
