Engr. Hameed Hussain Meets DG Passports to Seek Immediate Resolution of Parachinar Issues

Islamabad: Parliamentary Leader of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) and MNA Engr. Hameed Hussain met Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa and raised issues being faced by citizens of District Kurram, particularly Parachinar, in obtaining passports and related services.

During the meeting, Engr. Hameed Hussain discussed problems faced by the Parachinar Passport Office, difficulties encountered by citizens in obtaining passports and cases involving blocked passports.

He urged the DG Passports to take immediate and effective measures to resolve the issues so that citizens could obtain passport services without unnecessary difficulties.

Engr. Hameed Hussain said the people of Parachinar and District Kurram were facing difficulties in accessing basic government services and urged the relevant authorities to prioritize their problems while keeping local circumstances and public needs in view.

DG Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa assured Engr. Hameed Hussain that all issues concerning the Parachinar Passport Office and citizens would be resolved on an emergency basis. He also directed the relevant officials to take necessary steps for their immediate resolution.

The DG Passports nominated passport office officer Fayyaz Hussain, Director Policy, as focal person for resolving passport-related issues of Parachinar to facilitate direct coordination and effective follow-up of citizens' complaints.

During the meeting, Muhammad Ali Randhawa said various measures were underway to make passport services easier, faster and more citizen-friendly across the country. He said efforts were also being made to enhance the capacity of NADRA Registration Centres and extend passport services to NADRA centres.

He added that work was underway on practical procedures for processing passport applications at NADRA Registration Centres, while modern technology, online processing, digital facilities and passport delivery services were also being improved.

Engr. Hameed Hussain thanked the DG Immigration and Passports for assuring immediate action and expressed hope that the appointment of a focal person would help expedite the resolution of blocked passports and other pending cases.

The meeting also agreed to strengthen coordination for resolving issues related to the Parachinar Passport Office and ensure speedy redressal of difficulties faced by citizens in obtaining passport services.
