Lahore: Approval has been accorded for establishment of Punjab Cyber Crime Unit (PCCU) to end harassment and blackmailing of children and women on social media.

Under age children and women who are affected by blackmailing and harassment on social media will have not to go to any police station or office for registration of complaint.

Mobile unit will be set up for registration of complaint of harassment and blackmailing of under age boys and girls.

Under age children particularly women will be able to register their complaint in police station.

Identity of children and women who are affected by blackmailing and harassment on social media will be kept completely secret.

Complaint can be registered on cyber crime unit front desk and PKM App.

Decision was taken for legislation to award severe punishment to offenders of blackmailing and harassment on social media.

Work has been started on elementary manuscript of Punjab Online Safety Act-2026 which will be presented soon.
