Ex-Senator Mushtaq Ahmad returns to Pakistan after being released from Israeli custody

Islamabad: After being released from Israeli custody, senior leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and former senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan arrived in Pakistan, where hundreds of people welcomed him at the airport.

Mushtaq Ahmad Khan landed at Islamabad International Airport on Gulf Air flight GF-770 from Bahrain. A large crowd gathered at the airport to give him a warm reception, with Palestinian flags waving across the arrival area.

It is noteworthy that the former senator had been unlawfully detained by Israeli forces last week while leading a Pakistani delegation in a humanitarian aid flotilla for Palestinians. The Pakistani Embassy in Amman played a key role in facilitating his safe return.
