Islamabad: Counsel for former DG ISI Faiz Hameed has claimed his client is not becoming approver against PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan in any case.
As per media reports barrister Mian Ali Ishfaq rejected the media reports wherein it was being said that his client can become approver against Imran Khan.
He dubbed these claims baseless and based on speculations.
Responding to a question from media he said there is no substance in reports circulating in media and political circles wherein it is being said Faiz Hameed is considering to become approver against Imran Khan in the cases.
He held all these reports are unfounded and merely speculations.
This clarification has come to open at such time when leading senator Faisal Vawda who is stated to be very close to establishment has given statement several time that Faiz Hameed will become approver against Imran Khan.
There is also speculation about an alleged nexus between Imran and Faiz, particularly in connection with the May 9, 2023 violence. When asked whether he had directly discussed the matter with his client, Barrister Ashfaq did not respond in the affirmative, but said, “I know such things for a fact”, indicating that there was no question of Faiz becoming an approver against the PTI founder.
When asked Barrister Mian ALi Ishfaq said has he talked to his client directly on this matter, he instead of giving reply in clear yes he said I know such things for a fact”, Due to it he fortified the impression that any question of becoming approver by Faiz Hameed against Imran Khan stands ruled out.
