Islamabad: Pakistan's rising boxing star Fatima Zahra has made history by defeating her Algerian opponent to reach the semi-final of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, securing the country's first-ever medal in women's boxing at the event.

Displaying exceptional skill and confidence, Fatima outclassed Algeria's Hamda Melissa in the -60kg category with a dominant 5-0 victory in the quarterfinal bout, ensuring at least a bronze medal for Pakistan.

President of the Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF), Lt. Col (R) Nasir Ijaz Tung, congratulated Fatima on her outstanding performance and expressed confidence in her continued success.

'Fatima Zahra has made the entire nation proud. We are hopeful she will maintain her winning momentum in the semi-final and qualify for the final to bring further glory to Pakistan,' he said.
