FCC rejects appeal plea of SBBWU against lady teacher

PESHAWAR:Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) while rejecting appeal by Peshawar's Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU) against lady teacher Syeda Laila has upheld the decision in her favor.

Justice Hassan Rizvi remarked during the hearing of the case the lady teacher fulfilled her commitment and performed duty for three years in university following completion of her PhD . Now she is being harassed unduly by university despite she had fulfilled her commitment by working at the university for three years after completing her PhD.

Rehman Ullah counsel for university took the plea government had given scholarship of Rs 56 lac and in return for it she was to perform service for 3 years. The counsel told the court that she remained on leave for 196 days during this period. Justice Hassan Rizvi remarked if she was on leave then university itself had approved her leave applications. He inquired as to why the lady teacher tendered resignation. What action was taken by university management against the person who had approved leave.

Justice Hassan Rizvi while expressing displeasure said the woman did phd at government expenses but you called the person from outside and appointed her on assistant professor post instead of selecting this woman teacher.
