Karachi: Acting JI Amir Karachi Saif ud Din advocate has said federal government should announce special package of at least Rs 500 for Karachi. He went on to say Sindh government should allocate at least 5 billion rupees for every town in its budget. If MQM is really claimant of rights of Karachi then it should have staged walk out at the time of approval of budget. Last year government provided Rs 3.2 billion only for K-4 while Rs 10 billion have been earmarked in the current budget while at least Rs 40 billion are required for timely completion of the project.
No one among federation and province is ready to take ownership of Karachi. Sindh government is not ready to provide funds to local bodies. Sindh government has taken into possession all local bodies and resources in violation of the constitution.
