Rawalpindi: Female accused have been handcuffed for the first time in the history of Pakistan.

As per media report the hands of women accused remained shackled in handcuff from Adiala jail to Kutchery and back for about 6 to 7 hours.

According to female accused they embarked on police van in the state of being handcuffed. They are facing difficulties while alighting from van, going to washroom and wearing dupatta.

They accused that police men held them from behind on pretext of extending help during the process of boarding on the van and they held their hands while alighting from van.

Relatives of women accused and district bar members have voiced strong protest over it.

The lawyers said handcuffing women prisoners is unconstitutional, illegal, Un-islamic and inhuman act under the constitution. The women even cannot be awarded death sentence.

The senior lawyers said this order which was issued by CPO was wrong.
