Islamabad: The Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises (CCoSOEs) convened today at the Finance Division under the chairmanship of Finance and Revenue Minister, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb.
The meeting, attended virtually by Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry and senior officials from relevant ministries, reviewed key governance and operational matters of state-owned enterprises.
The Committee approved the Procurement Policy of the Export-Import (EXIM) Bank of Pakistan 2025, aligning it with the State-Owned Enterprises Act 2023, PPRA regulations, and CIPS global standards to streamline procurement operations.
Other agenda items approved included:
Appointment of the Chairman of the Board and one Independent Director at National Insurance Company Limited (NICL).
Filling one Independent Director position on the State Life Insurance Corporation (SLIC) Board.
Appointment of an Independent Director to the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) Board.
The Committee also endorsed the business plan for Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), retaining its core functions as a lean ‘centre of excellence’ to promote Brand Pakistan, coordinate intergovernmental tourism policies, and manage marketing and branding with a rationalized staff and revised Board structure. The Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination was directed to submit a separate proposal, in coordination with the Law Division, for funding and management of PTDC’s existing assets.
