First formal meeting between PM, KP CM,

Islamabad: First formal meeting has been held between Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif and KP Chief Minister (CM) Sohail Afridi.

The both held separate meeting first and then delegation level meeting took place.

The matters related to federation and province came under discussion in the meeting.

The matters between federation and province were discussed in delegation level meeting. Interior minister Mohsin Naqvi and advisor on Finance KP Muzammal Aslam also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting the PM underscored the need for enhancing cooperation between the provincial and federal government for the development and prosperity of people of KP.

The PM termed cooperation between the federal and provincial government indispensable for peace and security in the province.

Need is there the efforts by provincial government for establishment of peace in the province be further geared up.

Provincial government should strengthen provincial institutions for elimination of terrorism.

He underlined federal and provincial governments will continue their joint efforts for complete eradication of the terrorism. The provincial government should discharge its constitutional obligation for establishment of peace in the province and welfare of people.

He said provincial government is empowered, therefore, steps be taken for health and education of people of the province.

Federal government is striving for the betterment of people of KP always.

CM KP Sohail Afridi gave briefing to PM Shehbaz Sharif regarding problems of the province and the welfare oriented projects.

As per media reports, CM KP informed the PM about his reservations on terrorism.

The payment of outstanding dues by federation to province also came under discussion in the meeting.

The possible February 8 protest was also discussed.

Operation in Tirah valley and immigration of local population also came under discussion.

The matter related to measures for curbing terrorism was also discussed.

Joint mechanism against terrorism came under the discussion. KP government has spent Rs 26 billion out of its own pocket on tribal districts. Terrorists have no country, province and no religion. We should all condemn terrorism as Pakistanis. We will continue to condemn terrorism always.

People of Tirah valley Kurram are rendering sacrifice. These Rs 4 billion are nothing before them. People of Tirah valley and Kurram are giving sacrifices and such statements should not be given which hurt their sentiments.

Talking to mediamen outside PM House after meeting with PM

CM KP Sohail Afridi said no talks were held with PM with reference to meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan.

I have too not demanded for arranging my meeting with Imran Khan.

He held no political talks was held and the matter of terrorism was discussed. Now one or two more meetings will take place.

All the matters related to NFC and payment of outstanding amount to province were discussed.

PM has issued directives to Ahsan Iqbal to hold talks with Muzammal Aslam in this regard.

It is to pertinent to mention here CM KP Sohail Afridi while addressing a Peace jirga in Khyber a day before had said invitation for meeting with PM on Monday has been given .
