First state of the art NFA of Pakistan becomes fully functional

Islamabad: The first ever state of the art National Forensic Agency (NFA) has become fully functional in short period. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has visited National Forensic Agency (NFA) and conducted detailed inspection of Research and Innovation Lab, Digital Forensic Lab, Narcotics Lab, and questionable document Lab.

He also reviewed DNA, Fire arms and explosive rooms. He said that due to establishment of this institution not only betterment will come in national security related matters but also state of the art facilities will become available in prevention of crimes and investigation.

He held state of the art services are being provided in the agency which are not available with other institutions of the country. This institution will provide assistance to all provinces and law enforcement agencies.

He also directed to set up sub office of the National Forensic Agency in KP, Balochistan, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan. He also inspected mock crime scene unit during his visit and exchanged views with under training ASPs with reference to their training course.

Giving briefing on the occasion, DG National Forensic Agency Hasnat Rasul said the first phase of the institution has been completed. Work on second phase will be started soon. 25 more specialized LAB s will be set up.
